You passed the exam. What comes next?

A practical overview of common post-exam steps: fingerprinting where required, license applications, compliance, appointments, onboarding, and training.

Passing a state or provincial exam is an important milestone, but it is usually not the final step. The exact sequence depends on the jurisdiction and provider.

1. Verify fingerprinting or background-review requirements

Some jurisdictions require fingerprints as part of the licensing process. Others use different background-review procedures. Confirm the current regulator instructions before acting.

2. Submit the license application

The application may require personal disclosures, exam information, fees, and supporting documentation. DominionStar's approach is to walk recruits through the process rather than leaving them to determine every step alone.

3. Complete onboarding and compliance requirements

Depending on the platform and providers, this may include background review, Errors & Omissions coverage, Anti-Money Laundering education, contracting, and other required forms.

4. Receive appointments and system access

A license alone may not authorize activity with every provider. Contracting, appointments, product access, training, and jurisdiction approval may still be required.

5. Begin structured training

DominionStar emphasizes training before independent client activity. Training may occur one-on-one or through Zoom and can include systems, products, illustrations, communication, documentation, prospecting, and leadership development.
